How do solar panels function?

How do solar panels function?

Robert Bessler.
Exec. Director of Operations.

Well, solar panels work very simply: you put them on a roof, you expose them to the sun, the sun hits the solar panels where it creates DC power, from there it will go into an inverter where it converts it to AC power which is then connected directly to the home and all that AC power will power the home and cover the home's loads.

However, if you do have a large land property like that and you need a significant of enough space for a solar panel system, ground mounts are an excellent option to avoid changing the look of the house and also to provide a good uniform area for the solar panels to generate as much electricity as possible.

Can you install a solar system on an old roof?

Can you install a solar system on an old roof?

Josh Grootonk
Lead Designer

Technically, you can, but you will be facing issues.
First thing is, old roofs have more of a tendency to leak, so we will be penetrating your roof when we install the solar system.

Older roofs tend to not be abled to be as waterproofed. Also, if you are going to put solar panels on an old roof, your roof is not going to last twenty years if it's not in great shape.

When you go to replace your roof, you're going to have to remove all the solar panels and then reinstall them. At the time that you buy your solar, it's always a great idea to make sure that you're installing them on a new roof.

Why we prefer in-home vists over ballpark figures when considering solar.

John Huey.
Appointment Coordinator.

Ballpark figures are provided by a lot of companies. The problem with that is that there are many questions that are unanswered from a Google Earth view and from getting emailed copies of electric bills.

When our consultants come to the homes, they
look at all the factors that are going to play into
the overall cost of the installation. This includes roof condition and orientation.

They're going to look at the service panel to see whether or not it needs to be upgraded.
So in the in-home visit, it crosses all the t's and dots all the i's. It allows us to give you an accurate proposal, right out of the gate.

Getting things done right the first time is the Semper way.
